Bellevue Condos Under $500,000
Condos for Sale Priced under $500,000 in Bellevue, Washington
Not quite a millionaire? That's okay when you want to live in Bellevue, Washington. There are a number of less expensive condos and condo options that can fit your budget.
This is entry-level for condo buyers who want a few of the extra perks cheaper condos do not have, but without the humongous sale price of more expensive condos. The overall space for most of these condos is less, but you are trading space for amenities. For example, instead of a second or third bedroom, you are getting a fireplace or balcony.
The locations of many of these less expensive condos are still quite nice, too. You can find these condos under $500,000 in the Crossroads neighborhood, which is a ten- or fifteen-minute drive directly east of downtown Bellevue along the far end of NE 8th St, or the neighborhood of Eastgate, which is directly southeast of Bellevue, off of I-405. Another nice neighborhood for finding a condo in this price range is Overlake, which is directly north of downtown Bellevue. Since they are not located in the heart of the city and all lay outside the city's primary perimeter, they cost less than the condos that are well within the city of Bellevue's boundaries.
There are other reasons why you should consider living in one of these residential neighborhoods of Bellevue. The buildings are older and well-cared for, which also reduces the cost because the sellers are not charging brand-new prices for older property. They have a lot more character because the condos are in buildings that are between twenty and fifty years old or more. Single persons or couples often find the one to two bedrooms more than enough space, and several also have a den that can be used for a home office or "man cave." All of the properties for sale are established and registered with the Home Owner's Association.
Commuting from Bellevue to Renton
Renton is a hot spot for major companies like Boeing, Microsoft, and a few government agencies of Washington state. If you need to commute to Renton, which is south of Bellevue and at the south point of Mercer Lake, you can hop on I-90 West to I-405 south and you're there in a matter of about twenty to thirty minutes with little to no traffic. With heavy traffic, you can expect thirty minutes to an hour or more, depending on which of the above three neighborhoods you chose to live in.
The commute to work in Renton aside, Bellevue has a lot to offer. There are dozens of places to shop, exotic foodie restaurants to explore, coffee houses galore, and schools for the kids that have very high ratings among all the schools in the state. This has a lot to do with the recent urban boom and construction expansion, a direct result of over thirty major corporations relocating to the Seattle/Bellevue area. Get in on the ground floor with a great starter condo today.
